The Organizing Committee of the 2017 ECA Canoe marathon European Championships published today the 1st bulletin for the upcoming event in Ponte de Lima, Portugal.

This document, dedicated to all European Nations, provides useful information about the new venue for the incoming event and also many detail information about the course, program and accommodations options.

The entries for Preliminary accommodation requests are now available at canoemarathonportugal.com and the numerical and nominal entries system will be ready later this week at SDP system of ICF.

For 2017 a new discipline will be integrated in the program of the  European Championships as european cup, the short race format, tested in the 2016 ICF World Cup.  In Ponte de Lima this will be a reality for the first time ever in a European Championship and it will be played only in Absolut categories in K1 and C1 , for men and women. 
Short race will have a length of 3600 meters, including 3 laps. 

Normal distance also known as the classic marathon will still happen in the different categories and genders and in K1, C1, K2 and C2 inside a course of 3600 meters per lap.

A masters event is also included in the program, as usual, and entries will be available in canoemarathonpotrugal.com shortly.

The ECA Canoe Marathon European Championships will take place from June 27th to July 2nd 2017.
